best bet is get tested, let produce their findings and put them to you. Then ask for Bert to be tested to find out what you are doing so differently from Bert. If we are ALL going to be compared to the likes of Bert we need to know what Bert does. If that means we get conduct coded for basicly being slower than Bert, Bert might get coded for not using the proper designated tools for the job, walking across gardens, reading and walking, not filling out 739's correctly. The list can go on.DB1100 wrote:Thats what they try in our office, they praise the early starters and runners by saying thing's like,"Bert is number one,I could put him on any walk and he would do it","If I had an office full of Bert's there would be no problems",and like you say the people who want to cut off are made to appear lazy and inefficient,I think the managers must discuss tactics at their meeting'sLaggyBand wrote:I've been arguing to have a clear notice of the correct cutting off procedure up on the notice board for a while now.
There's nothing wrong with if the workload is there. It shouldn't be seen as something "naughty".
Instead our managers always assume it's performance, without properly testing or coaching. It's just used as a threat. We had one guy get suspended for bringing mail back after the office was deemed "clear" for "not cutting off properly". In reality it was used as a message. Everyone shut up and get done. Mafia style. They're basically enforcers. Ours never cleverly manage anything. They prefer the bully system. Much better system for the disadvantaged brain.

We have a few Berts in our office but they have had loads of complaints for walking over gardens, door stepping etc. It depends what the managers want I suppose.

Re: cutting off
Ask your manager what the traffic for the day is against forecasted and model. Ask him to show you via Automis what mail went to your delivery, as soon as you ask these questions he will back off as like the managers in Belfast he will not be able to show you these tools, simplesssssss. Ask him for the outputs of the weekly resourcing meeting etc, you need to educate yourself. As a start up meeting your manager should be able to inform you what the traffic is like, if it is over forecast and you cannot work over your time then tell him before 8am if you can
