One of the large parcels was for a house where the occupants had recently moved and had a redirection in so luckily spotted this and took it back but just scanned it as not delivered and none of the options fitted much better than gone away I think but not sure if there was much more I could have done with it other than notice it before I left.

Talking of tracked, I had an unusual case today.

We hit 95%+ ftd all the time, but have been told today to scan any returns as inaccessible. It seems 95-97% isn't enough, RM want 100%.

What they want and what they get are two completely different things. Unless they indemnify us where receipt is denied but evidence shows otherwise, then 739 it is.OnAFlyer wrote:We hit 95%+ ftd all the time, but have been told today to scan any returns as inaccessible. Re: Tracked items
Manager showed us a printout of the worst performing walks and the problem streets - two streets were highlighted for my P+L partner... he was told to not scan it If you can't get rid and don't card it either as the Manager will give it a collection driver to try later on

Re: Tracked items
Must be a managers bonus thing .
We have an a3 glossy card tied to our frames supposedly to be filled in weekly but hasnt been touched in almost a year, just gets in the way, someone probably got a bonus or a pat on the head for dreaming this up.
Wasted cash comes to mind . They are full on to protect their massive bonuses and not our welfare.

It may well be manager bonus driven but i've a feeling it's more to do with announcing performance figures to the stock market. There is too much pressure from up high coming down on us for it to be about putting money in managers pockets.5plusbonusball wrote:Must be a managers bonus thing .

The next thing will be a drive to reduce customer complaints from all the doorstepping being encouraged to clear the tracked

Re: Tracked items
That's exactly what it is, a numbers game. For instance, we've recently been told that you can stream some of your own mail as long as the lapsing goes out - I've seen others here mention it too. Now to me that means we aren't fulfilling the USO because every address isn't getting a delivery - but it isnt a USO failure to RM because every delivery has gone out.A2B wrote:It may well be manager bonus driven but i've a feeling it's more to do with announcing performance figures to the stock market. It's not about what's actually happening, it's all about what the performance figures say. That's all that matters.

Re: Tracked items
Forget management's printouts. We've got a nice shiny, laminated CWU card. It's got a list of rules printed on it, agreed between the CWU and Royal Mail. One of the rules is - Delivery to a neighbour is at the sole discretion of the delivery OPG - Nobody else.

Re: Tracked items
It is all about performance and quality figures but when staff are having to leave through stress or die off while managers do very little and go home early , surely these must also be reported to shareholders, let's have some independent time and motion guys in.

Yup,and in time honored CWU fashion, the shiny thingies are out of date...BarnsleyLackey wrote:Forget management's printouts. We've got a nice shiny, laminated CWU card. https://www.myroyalmail.com/news/2014/1 ... nniversary" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; In June this year, we issued a national guideline with the CWU that Delivery to Neighbour is now a Royal Mail standard. This means where no opt out exists and it's safe and secure, Delivery to Neighbour must be attempted every time a customer is not in.*

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
