What always amazes me with the situation of a failure of delivery is the overtime. On the day of the delivery not going out managers will be offering the full 6 hrs docket or sometimes more to get the mail delivered. It fails so the poor guy comes in next day and is told that they will pay some OT for him to clear. How much do they offer ? Normally 1-2 hrs extra and often get turned down and the guy cuts off only having to pay 2 or 3 people to take out the remainder.

If they just offered the guy 6 hours in the first place many would not turn that down.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

My day off cover phoned in sick during peak Xmas pressure, I came in the next day to an unreal amount of mail and parcels, because barely any if at all was taken out by others on o/t. Warned lino right from the off that a serious amount of outdoor help was going to be needed, left depot just before midday having fully prepped the lot (as not told to do otherwise) with literally letters (no parcels at all) for half the walk, having told lino even this would involve o/t to the time limit I am prepared to do.

Rest was down to my line manager to manage, I did more than my contract hours and got paid the o/t for it, pretty generous by me considering!

A job didn't go out for delivery today and i'm due to on that job tomorrow. I call it willful delay of mail yet the management call it a controlled carry over. Where do i stand on this as i'm going to be delivering 2 days mail in one day?

Thanks
just ask Moya if there is such a thing as a controlled carry over as this would explain why a whole delivery (or whatever %) didn't go out today.
Start asking, bearing in mind you may not get told what you want to hear, although nor will your manager when Moya finds out.
Confused... You won't be, after the next episode of. SOAP
