unbelievable at watford today nearly everyone worked their breaks today rushing around to get everything done same members of staff as usual some even went to senoir management to get their cars on delivery so they could rush home after. Even though are union rep was taken off his duty.the thing is we we were supposed to be sticking together and now certain people are more intrested in getting their own deals and no ones worried about their driver.It amazes me that by leaving your car at the end off youre walk all of a sudden you can complete SHAME ON YOU ALL THIS MORNING.THE DRIVER STILL COMES BACK AT 3 WHAT DOES HE GET OUT OFF IT

I thought that this was a free country and people could decide what they wanted to do,hope you enjoyed your 16 weeks of fun

For my self i am not worried about tracking. the one thing that i have learnt from this dispute is that when i do my job as to the 318s then the only one that pays is RM not me! in fact i gain in so many ways including not starting early, not throwing off so fast that mistakes are made, taking my meal relief, not crossing walls and fences, or riding up driveways when we are not insured, checking every bit of mail, and going back to the DO when the time has run out so they can pay someone else to finish my walks then RM can get stuffed! and i shall carry on doing this even if RM have given us a pay rise and dropped all the strings! My job has got a lot more pleasant than it was and i can talk to all the people on the walks and just enjoy the job for what it is a SERVICE.

That's what I am doing except I am still using car and still having to cut off on heavy days!!

Otherwise working to rule ie coming in on time taking my breaks not rushing,when they get use to that I will give up the car in the next few weeks and finally put my doing the job properly badge on.

I have drawn up a walk plan and have worked out that I must be thrown off by 8.45 incluling packets(8.00 saturdays)presuming no door to doors.If 3 lots of D2D included the time will be 8.15.

I have included every detail of my duty including meal relief of 20 mins prior to delivery.

When any longer than these times will mean cutting off and for every 15 minutes extra throwing off time will mean a bigger chunk of the walk will not get done.

My job has got a lot more pleasant than it was and i can talk to all the people on the walks and just enjoy the job for what it is a SERVICE.

It should be part of your duty to spend up to 15 minutes a day talking to customers,as some elderly customers may not see anyone else that day so you are NOT skiving by doing this.

This should be reflected in the walk time.

Firstly I really feel that this being a forum where grown ups can air thier views the use of insults (idiot) is kinda counter productive
Now talking of counter productivity let me enlighten you about Watford,16 weeks ago when Watford stopped using thier cars,where were the rest of the country????
Oh yes I remeber they were all FINISHING EARLY!!!
Wether I agree with the actions taken at Watford or not is immaterial,But I feel that the Men&Women of Watford have had enough,they are still a very strong unit on days of industrial action,however they have been left out in the cold for too long and now(rightly or wrongly)they are starting to think as individuals
I truly believe that they have looked at the bigger picture
All I was trying to point out to green x code man is that.......people always have choice

Here in bournemouth we still have no job and finnish we have to work our hours so not many of us are getting back now it is not worth it on sat they said it was job n finnish so we hurried around then the cheeky baskets told us it was not and that we had to do at least 40 mins of backlog sorting told them no so went home as did most of the staff . Funny thing all the dum's had gone earley and left an acting dum to tackle everyone. What a sorry stae when dum's have not got the bottle to tackle people and leave it to wannabies

I have to admire your stand,it was the same at Watford,in the meetings everyone agreed but then the same one or two kept going against it,eventually the trickle became a stonger current and the flood gates have burst open

Just do the job properly yourself and you will work 8 hours and get your break and not have to come in early or use your car if you don't want to.

When I complained to the screws about a new block of flats on my walk he said the guy next door finishes 2 hours early and he will be getting it which just shows how the screws think.

I am going to tell the guy what they have planned and hope he does the job properly and they will have to end up carrying the extra work out themselves.

DO NOT USE YOUR CARS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES It is to the long term benefit of RM only, as they are then not obliged to provide transport for postmen and their mail bags.

Get on the vans & demand what is your by right & what RM say is yours in their own rules!
