The current costing in of a VR is if you reduce a full time VR by 39 hours and then back fill the full timer with a 24 hour part time contract. Even then Royal Mail don't make the hours back for nearly 3 years as the average cost of a VR is 50 Grand.

The problem for Royal Mail is that very few now want a buy down due to it now being taxable and Royal Mail still need the delivery part of a duty coverd but not the indoor which means you cannot allow a part time VR

Going to get very interesting when all the part time staff find better job's as some have degrees and were only doing this job for desperation now the options are more where is royalmail with there work them till they drop approach!

and where are all these new options.

Outside RM but lots think RM is the be all and end all don't they even Don has jumped the sinking ship!

yeah but don will never need to work again with his pay off and pension how many posties can say that. people will only leave if guaranteed another job with near enough same wage coming in and I don't think there is too many around.

If the review of MTSF has been put back until May, does anyone know if that means pensions will been enhanced for those that have accepted VR? I have 3 years to do.
