If we were dealing with a company and it,s managers who had an ounce of respect for us as individuals and our personal needs, and we could go to them and know that they would pull out all the stops to help us out when we needed it, then probably this sort of advice would not be posted. However as you are fully aware that is not the case and what they sow, they must also reap.zx135 wrote:maisymoo04 wrote:Go sick

Re: Can anyone help?
the problem then is that the people who are genuinely off ill then reap the fact that managers think they are not genuinely ill half the time and can try pressure people who are ill into coming back early, so its your fellow posties who are reaping the consequences not just the managersLincox wrote:If we were dealing with a company and it,s managers who had an ounce of respect for us as individuals and our personal needs, and we could go to them and know that they would pull out all the stops to help us out when we needed it, then probably this sort of advice would not be posted. I dont think they need a few non genuine sickness cases to act the way they do. Yes maybe there are a few caring managers within Royal Mail, but as yet I have failed to meet one of them.zx135 wrote:the problem then is that the people who are genuinely off ill then reap the fact that managers think they are not genuinely ill half the time and can try pressure people who are ill into coming back early, so its your fellow posties who are reaping the consequences not just the managersLincox wrote:If we were dealing with a company and it,s managers who had an ounce of respect for us as individuals and our personal needs, and we could go to them and know that they would pull out all the stops to help us out when we needed it, then probably this sort of advice would not be posted. If all else fails, request special ( unpaid ) leave.
They may find they are able to give you the day off if they are saving some money.

If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Clever advice !!! As he has already asked for the day off and been refused he will almost certainly be conducted for abuse of sick leave procedure - best advice is try to strike a deal with a workmate and offer him your next Saturday off in return.maisymoo04 wrote:Go sick
