You may see this as nitpicking but you even say it in the bit above - preparing for work - that by definition is not working so should we be paid for it. Its a difficult question I grant you that, and if the manager is being an arse I might push the point. I personally come in 5minutes before my start time, put stuff in my locker, get a cuppa ready and check the Union board all because its a less stressful start to the day than trying to arrive at work at my exact start time. If I am seen as a sell out for that, c'est la vie, I can live with that.
