In Norway and some other countries they have firebrick presses. Basically you soak old papers and cardboard in a tank with a mesh basket in. You lift the mush out and drop it in brick-shaped mesh compartments, and then pull the lever to expel the water. During summer these are left in the shed or outside under polythene to dry. In winter these paper firebricks are great and efficient to be burned as free fuel.

This last lot of Scums weighed 1320 tonnes nationwide. If made into firebricks they could have generated enough electricity to power a town of 20,000 for a week.
