If she is so sure that the officers aren't working hard enough, then why doesn't she show you all how it's done?
Postmen do not make great managers either.
Whether they do or don't isn't really the point.
People coming from outside the business, especially when they come straight from university and therefore have ZERO life experience, shouldn't be telling any postie with years of on the job experience how to do their job.

And, ex posties COULD make good managers, the fact that most don't is a testament to the training they receive and the direction they are given by their superiors ( :left: ) and the company as a whole.
Sometimes, I wish I wasn't a Rep.

I have to say I disagree with your sweeping statement of someone coming straight out of Uni has ZERO life skills.

You do not know what that person has done at university - they may have had a year within a business as part of there degree - as an example.

Your statement would be equivelent to someone saying 'All these old posties are so stuck in their ways and don't know what it's like to work anywhere else' - that's an assumption that being postal worker is all they have ever done, and that every single person is like that.

You are perfectly entitled to your opinion and I respect that, but you should not make such sweeping statements.

putting people in their place is the role of a new manager ?
this woman is going to learn a very hard lesson if she carries on the way she is, she can look forward to her whole workforce doing the least they can get away with.
Why because you have had it so easy and now a change comes in and you don't like it ???join the club am afraid were all in this togeeettthhheerrr :Boo hoo! :Boo hoo!

not sure why you think theyve had it very easy - the fact that the OP says the walks are not achievable and being brought back on a daily basis. What change are you talking about ? all the manager says is that theyre not working hard enough. Thats a claim that shouldnt be made lightly by a DOM and I would be amazed if she was able to prove that during her first week.
