i was looking forward to a nice short week again next week ? I think RM are running scared and can see what total disruption and anger amongst the work force the latest strike had, because it would take until at least middle of next week to clear the back log but with rolling strikes no chance, our office alone would have had last friday approx 100 rsc's of work saturday approx the same again 100 sunday usually 100 1st class monday 40 tuesday back to 100 thats approx 450 RSC's that havent come through our office yet and their on top of it ? i dont think so.
So come on CWU use your clout now this is the time we have them on the back foot, F*CK their 4pm tomorrow deadline i for sure think for maximum bargaining power we must keep with next weeks rolling strikes and go from there.
I honestly believe they will not walk away at 4pm friday they have to much to lose now the government our on their case, i know not publicly but definately

behind the schenes.

On a seriousd note if Royal Mail walk away at 4 tomorrow let them. They,ll soon be back to the table when the next strikes begin. Bluffers to a man

Ok..

We've done well so far.

Got a company round the table numerous time - a company who said they'd never negotiate.
Managed to prove they do have money - the managers new pay details and our 6.9% offer does prove that
We've crippled the whole network with a series of strikes - 4 out 10 of the public agree with us (which isn't too bad)

Have had the upper hand more than they have during these talks (perhaps except now when it's crunch time??)

What we still want sorted:

Pensions fiasco and Flexibilty & D2D's

If RM can just sort those out, a deal is guaranteed.

Remember, it was RM who got us into this mess in the first place by not paying into the pensions deal for 10 years. It was RM over the past few years who have introduced, Starburst, SDD, Job and Finish - now they want flexibilty - just how much does an entire workforce have to endure because of their shoddy management practices.

As regards competition hampering RM - like f**k it does - we're now busier/heavier than ever due to UM mail, TNT, Business post et al offloading their products for us to take out for them (the last mile) - whilst undercutting us at the same time.
Surely to god, RM could've complained to Postcomm about that.

*Postcomm - the regulator - conspicious by their absence on all of this. Very much part to blame.

So, tonight is crunch time. 4pm deadline by tomorrow set by RM - i'd love to be a fly on the wall at the moment during this "last" meeting between them all.

If Hayes and Ward get the deal we're all ooking for out of this, they'll be miracle workers..if they don't the CWU will lose thousands of members.

agreed.let them walk away form the table,obviously if they dont get thier own way then they spit thier dummy out,let them walk away,leave the posties to run the business,who needs management..

as for the working group on door to doors sounds like that will be the next thing thats taken away from us then.

They are behaving like a spoilt child. Better get Supenanny to sort the brats out.

I can see something along these lines being accepted.The thing at this stage to realise is that neither side is going to get exactly what it wants and the name of the game is to save face.It does seem that in the allewged proposals some ground has been given to try to find some sort of agreement which although by no means ideal to us may be the basis to end the dispute.
