It isn't a jolly up on my office, I've cut off almost every day for 3 weeks now and I'm not slow in the least and neither is my P&L partner - I do realise however that a good manager (and we do have one so they do exist) is a massive part of the battle. We also have a lot of posties who are good at their job and have no problem telling the manager they're cutting off, and none of them would be worried about any performance tests. But, I do feel for the ones in crap offices with crap managers, and where many of the staff won't or are unable to stand up for themselves. At some point though they have to make their voice heard to the CWU no matter what level they need to go to, and they have to do it on an individual office basis because many offices simply don't have those issues.
Btw I chose my username when it was job and knock, I'd fly round and finish early every day just like many of us did. These days? I start on time, take my breaks, work at a good pace and finish on time with a bit of flex here and there if I don't have to be somewhere. The job has changed and you have to change with it because the days of finishing 2 hours early aren't ever coming back.
Ironically the ones who start early are mainly the slow ones and not the runners - but I've said elsewhere that I don't actually begrudge them for doing it, they are aware they'd struggle if starting on time so they just want to do their days work without hassle, even if it takes longer than the time they're given for it. I have no problem with that, it just winds me up when I'm on IPS and someone is next to me sorting 5 letters per minute.
but then when some posters think deliveries is just "A Nice Walk" or "A Well Paid Paper Round" it's a wonder they bother visiting RMC at all.
