About 3 weeks ago we had a couple of managers from who knows where actually counting the D2D count for each walk. When I asked what they were doing he explained that because of the numbers sent back they had been instructed to physically count each walk and determine that the figure attributed on the D2D sticker was what the bundle/box contained. I said there always used to be an anomaly because they weighed them instead of counting them to the walk and he said they still do and guess what there was still an anomaly................still it kept a couple of managers occupied for a week and truth to tell they were very committed. :cuppa

If said poor postman has time in his delivery then yes, said poor postman does have cause to raise issue a grievance and might end up getting the postie who left it and/or manager into trouble, but if he refuses and has time to complete he could end up getting into trouble himself, its mail that needs delivered, regardless of where it came from he must deliver it up until the end of his shift

Last warning for everyone - Stop using the "you must be a manager"- its against the rules and is a pointless position - why - because everyone has opinions and you should base your opinion of their posts on their reputation and the content of their posts.

Just a reminded of the rules as well

Just because someone has a different viewpoint or political position to you, it does not mean that they are a 'Manager' or a 'Union fanatic', any posts making such assumptions or generalisations will be pulled or amended and the poster warned. This also applies to posts that are not aimed at individuals but at groups.

There is the problem.
If they don't want to do the job properly then they shouldn't be allowed to do the overtime.
D2D is part of the workload.
It would be a bit like saying - I want the overtime but I'm not delivering any TV licence reminders.

This is also a problem with offices that insist on keeping so much overtime in the system.
Get rid of the overtime. Create jobs. Deliver D2D to spec.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

In my office a walk goes on overtime door to doors are not set in re-directions are not done but you see hands come flying in grabbing their rows to bring with them on their own walk as overtime. Problem is walk holders gets the blame for not doing re-directions two weeks on. Nobody should be able to touch the overtime walk till its fully thrown off door to doors set in and re-directions done and frame checked by a manager before its allowed out.

Overtime should be done after your duty is over and not knitting it in within your walk... Other posties hold their managers to ransom by doing overtime only if they get a van on their own so therefore two vans are doing two walks...

if the manager insists you put them all in the frame then throw them all off, tie up your mail, then tell your manager you cannot complete and leave mail in the office for your manager to decide what to do with it, then go out and work your hours and go home on time. NOT YOUR PROBLEM!!! that is what the DIM is paid extra for if he/she creates the problem then let them solve it themselves :arrrghhh

Report the c*** of a manager to higher levels, send an email to darling Moya informing her that the incompetent twats that are supposedly managing things quite clearly are not!

D2Ds should be delivered on the week they are due, not next week - contract.. Talking of which does anyone have a copy of the contract entered into by any companies? I guess a company is not arsed if they get extra coverage though..

We did have a spell of delivering surplus D2Ds the following week, maybe it still goes on, certainly not on my walk as I have a pair and would only work to my time if I found surplus s**t in my frame.
