To the OP, have you been asleep for the last 5 years? Everything that's happened has been a road to privatisation, this has been in the offing for a long time.

I dont think people outside the business realise how much goodwill and foolishness goes on by staff. Coming in early, no breaks, rushing round, if that all stops, that 400 mill profit becomes 100 mil, and theyll only realise this when its too late.

Once we are privatised, goodwill will go out the window, people will hopefully start coming in on time, taking breaks and working properly, as theyre gona make us work our full hours thats a given, so anything else would be sheer foolishness. Work to rule = every office in the country completely screwed and unable to clear on a daily basis, resulting in more round being needed, more staff being needed, profits lost as a result, meaning share price drops. Im on 1 of the easier rounds at my place, and if I worked properly im over daily, and our office has some of the smallest rounds in the company due to having very few FT staff, so more ips than other office means smaller rounds. So god help the rest of you

You are unfortuneately living in cloud cuckoo land.

Whilst i would hope that people would start on time and do the job as specified (as I do , and cut most days) . It will only happen for a short time after a revision ; a privitisation , or any change.

Very soon the early starters will come in even earlier.

The 'runners' willl run faster so that they can still get overtime within duty time.

The people that actually do the job as per .. will get more snide comments about being lazy.

All will still moan that RM are bastards and posties will still continue with bad practice.

And what will happen? We will still be effed over.

We will still Summer Lapse ( no matter what traffic figures say.

We will still absorb ( no matter what traffic figures say)

LWT's will be ignored because ' it slows me down'. Managers will turn the proverbial 'Blind eye'
