Re: keepsafe for schools
No one at royal mail was bothered about any lost revenue when we NEEDED them as bag drops.......and we should show a little bit of common sense here, coz not sure about other offices, but if i get caught short on delivery, a school is usually the only port of call. If we want to alienate them and remove this goodwill, then i got a 16 mile round trip back to the office for a piss.If i do this every day, then the cost far exceeds the few quid we make from a keepsafe.

They should be paying for keepsafes, there's a dedicated team in CS that do them - costs a fair amount for the schools £46 a pop for each holiday

Thank you all, its as I thought, no national rule just each office does as it sees fit. like with a lot of other rules and regs.

Wrong! There absolutely is a national rule, no keepsafe, then the mail is returned or delivered. Offices who do not do this are in breach of the current rules - like most things RM nobody cares enough to ensure that a service being provided is paid for.saddlerposty wrote:Thank you all, its as I thought, no national rule just each office does as it sees fit. like with a lot of other rules and regs.

Exactly, it's not exactly something that should vary from office to office due to local differences etc. It's simple, no keepsafe and the mail gets RTS.dvbuk55 wrote:Wrong! You don't run a business on goodwill and using your criteria, joe blogs is a nice guy who makes me a brew, well I'll redirect his mail for him, oh molly is not bad so I'll keep hold of her mail whilst they're on holiday .............it would be never ending freebies.kjm wrote:No one at royal mail was bothered about any lost revenue when we NEEDED them as bag drops.......and we should show a little bit of common sense here, coz not sure about other offices, but if i get caught short on delivery, a school is usually the only port of call. Re: keepsafe for schools
I think it highly unlikely that a school will hold the postperson personally responsible for the national guidelines on withdrawal of free keepsafes.kjm wrote:No one at royal mail was bothered about any lost revenue when we NEEDED them as bag drops.......and we should show a little bit of common sense here, coz not sure about other offices, but if i get caught short on delivery, a school is usually the only port of call. Incidentally, if you use the school toilets, do you use the staff toilets or the ones the kids use?
Personally I wouldn't use the latter because it puts you in a very vulnerable position.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: keepsafe for schools
Free keepsafe went at my office years ago, caused a right shitsorm lol. Near enough every school in the city complained because their mail had been killed off over the holidays
