Its not a mistake, it's cutting corners in order to make time and which in turn is killing full time jobs.chickenwittle wrote:we all make mistakes of varying degrees, people are simply pointing out the unfairness of the punishment.

Didn't one of these IB apes get sacked and imprisoned for stealing a while back. Looks like a definite department that could benefit from outsourcing. And no, they don't always prosecute.

Re: The IB and the difference between PT and FT staff
In the example I mention, the houses are a good way apart, and mainly on one side of a long, long road, where you deliver it all, then turn around at the end and drive to another part of the village entirely. You couldn't walk any of it.OnAFlyer wrote:Surely you'd park up, the van, lock it then deliver to at least several houses before moving the van again if they are that close together? It sounds like your describing driving door to door to some terraced housesBernardBresslaw wrote:Say, for example, you deliver a rural delivery in a van, and you are delivering down a long rural-ish road, but the houses are close together, how would you deliver that to be IB-safe? Would you seriously edge a few meters a time, in your van, turn the engine off, lock all the doors, walk up the path, deliver the letters, then walk down the path, unlock the van again, start the engine, then repeat?
A genuine question. I always thought, in that scenario, as long as the van is close, and you see it at all times, you can leave the engine running?![]()

Re: The IB and the difference between PT and FT staff
I am confused as to why you want to leave the engine running... On top of that you said 'as long as the door is closed'... Surely, the van will be unlocked and it can be driven away - it only takes a spilt second especially if you have been watched and they know your methods.
The worst case scenario will be that postman comes back to see his van been driven off and he attempts to stop the opportunist thief and gets badly injured or worse.
Van should be locked even if you are leaving it for less that a minute. We are lucky that we have fobs - how hard is it to click lock and click open???

People are usually reticent about giving information that pinpoints their location as it may make it easy to identify them............... if you raise your head above the parapetShe Raa wrote:What area did this take place JCL?

He takes his break at his house?
And where is his HCT then?
And where is his HCT then?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

They're part of the problem as it gives a misleading impression that everything worksJimmy Carr`s laugh wrote:people fearful of losing jobs so going beyond the call of duty, coming in early, no breaks, prepping d2d the saturday before as there simply isnt time on a daily basis, people going over and not booking OT

The rep will need to highlight the fact that other posties leave HCTs unlocked etc.
