Re: Moya's house
Spoodoo not negative about postpersons at all. Worked with them along time and drink and socialise with a lot. But I can't understand why they just pick on the top brass. Yes we don't get paid like them but we could not do there jobs and if we could apply for them and run the company. Remember if you got the job hard decisions will have to be made to make a successful company and pay our wages. Just my opinion.

Re: Moya's house
I would like to see Moya do a delivery day in , day out , she would not hack it , would she ? . most posties on this thread are just pointing out another example of the hypocrisy that exists between the management and the workforce. plenty of bonuses and shares for the managers none for the workers , plenty of money to give away to Moya to buy a free house, none to give the workers a pay rise. just like the Austerity measures and we are all in this together. cuts to the poorer paid while the rich continue to enrich themselves beyond a posties wildest dreams. I suggest you wise up fellow....

Re: Moya's house
just to back up with some facts rather than opinion...
British workers have suffered one of the biggest falls in real wages among European countries over the past three years, with only crisis-hit Greece, Portugal and the Netherlands doing worse.
New figures collated by the House of Commons Library show a 5.5 per cent drop in wages after inflation since 2010. This follows other recent national statistics on the rising cost of living and a substantial fall in living standards since the first of George Osborne's austerity budgets was delivered three years ago.
The shadow Treasury secretary, Cathy Jamieson, said the figures, released by the Labour Party yesterday, showed that not only was Britain worse off under the Conservative-led coalition, but the UK was doing much worse than most other EU countries.
Ms Jamieson said: "Life is getting harder for ordinary families, as prices continue rising faster than wages.
Professor John Van Reenen, director of the Centre for Economic Performance at the London School of Economics, described the fall in real wages in the UK as "stunning – and something that did not happen in previous postwar recessions in Britain". He said the weak performance reflected poor growth and linked it to falling GDP and national income, "which is now 3.5 per cent smaller than it was before the financial crisis".

Re: Moya's house
I see your example and yes read it too but remember moya came from a country and one of the few that avoided recession and was doing a very well paid job too. We need to take people with these skills and let me ad we have now got carney too who has taken the job on a shorter term than they wanted him too so I think he can't be worried about money also £250000 housing allowance. Also your point on moya not being able to do a delivery I would agree she could not do them but she has got herself another job which I suspect we could not do either. Remember there are plenty of other jobs in Royal Mail that pay more money maybe you should look out for one of these and maybe one we could be working under you...

Re: Moya's house
how about giving me your view on the main point of my post , that would be Hypocrisy ?
if we had a workforce of all Moya Greene's where would we be ? the nation would be seriously skint for one , and not a lot of work would be done either . the backbone of any nation is made up of ordinary people doing ordinary but seriously important jobs . Nurses , shop workers , road sweepers, bus drivers, care workers, labourers, HM forces, posties , cleaners , teachers etc etc . I have nothing against someone striving to become a Moya Greene but it is impossible for all of us to be elevated to such a high position whether we have the capabilities or not. it is the workers that get things done , it is the workers that create the profit .
at present we have a crisis of capitalism. the Capitalists are sitting on hundreds of billions of dollars that they have accumulated over the years but they will presently not re-invest. therefore at the moment , as I have said in another post , other services historically controlled by government offer a place where exploitation of workers can generate real profits. this is ideologically driven and the capitalists are taking advantage of austerity to raid the public sector, searching for opportunities to exploit labour and make profits.
the debate should be about creating a worthwhile society whereby the vast majority of people can partake in it , which means a balance between pay and the cost of living etc . the balance between the amounts of profit made and the amounts of tax paid but at the moment all we see is Unregulated Capitalism and the profit before people culture that is undermining this.

Re: Moya's house
Borders firstly Ill say again I don't think she could hack a walk day in day out. She gave the money back for house. They have offered a payrise we the union choose not to accept it. They do get nice bonuses but we do too but not to there level but that won't change. I agree that prices are going up and wages are stagnant but I can't complain too much as in the last years I have nearly 10% wage increase when public sector had say 2% and private sector pay cuts and pay freeze. Any more points just let me know...
