No agreement reached at the meeting that was held the middle of this month, no news is good news hey? Think there have been multiple problems in Gloucester that the review team have had to go back to sort out, we await the outcome with baited breath

Supposed to be an announcement on Monday, the rumour mill is working overtime here, who knows what the outcome will be, I've given up trying to second guess royal mail, at least if we do move to SOMC its not too bad a journey compared to the horrendous journeys that our colleagues in Gloucester and Hull are faced with, dunno what would be achieved as deliveries the cash in transit depot and address management unit would still be based here so the cost saving would seem to be negligible but plenty of our fellow mc people have had to endure this and guess we can't complain now its our turn

No announcement, the team visited the mcm last week but what was discussed remains under wraps, latest rumour is decision might be put back by 6-12 months as the team have problems at Gloucester and the IOW is causing problems

It's not just the " horrendous journeys " our colleagues at Gloucester are faced with, the duty sets aren't too exciting either. The morning shift, which currently is 50 / 50 Monday-Friday and Tuesday - Saturday will be all Tuesday - Saturday. And start times currently 04.30 / 05.00 / 05.30, are being replaced with 4 x 03.15 start locally, and all the rest 04.00 at Bristol. So, these " lucky " sods most of whom live in and around Gloucester are going to have to get up at God knows what hour. Hardly worth going to bed !

Well all I can say is the best of British gt750rider, you're gonna be needing that 750 to get you to Bristol for those sorts of times, it really is time our union got its act together and started challenging RM on mail centre closures and revisions, from what I've seen of this review process its not a review at all, the decision has already been made before the statutory 90 day process and nothing is going to deflect RM from doing what they want to do even if the review throws up genuine problems that would only be sorted by leaving a local workforce in place, this seems to be the Dutch system of 6 mc's across Holland all with the same machinery and the same buildings so staff can transfer easily between them, thing that RM doesn't understand is entirely different countries and centres of population, not land locked and with a bigger population, it won't work but this is all about money and nothing else

I'm happy to say I won't making the journey to Bristol as I opted for VR and got it ! But my commiserations to all those that have to.
I should have said these are the Professional Driver jobs. The night shift PD jobs are mainly midnight - 08.00.Just in time to catch the rush hour.

My guess its going to be option 3, however with the reps not talking to Royal Mail means the members there will have no input to what happens to them. I would suspect Royal Mail will continue with their project and approach members to set up a working group without CWU involvement .

Our current thinking equals we don't know!

This plan is flawed as SOMC is not large/efficient enough to deal with the rest of our mail - remember they already take our 2c packets, mech and some PPI ( Shame CWU did nothing to block this). Limited processing of mail (last IOW 1c/specials) will remain at POMC because there's no other way of doing it!
How much worse can it get? A LOT F****** WORSE !!!
