Fairness at work is worth fighting for and if you stand and support fairness most members will follow but be prepared to be intimidated by a violent minority of bullies who are favoured by or related to management.
Why should some useless idiot get promoted because their mother-in-law let the Operations Manager shag her (hypothetical example of corruption)?
Why should anyone put up with being bullied by a manager who is too lazy to read company policies and who senior management haven't been bothered to train because they think they are untouchable?
Why should anyone put up with being managed by a gang of bullies who became friends in the smoking shed and decided to promote each other and ignore everyone else?
Don't bother with a vote of no confidence. Petitions are not valid in the same way that elections are. People can be intimidated into signing petitions after a theatrical show. The only way you can replace your rep is to have another candidate challenge him/her at the next election.

Our rep has agreed to (some of?) the drivers starting at 9am. No 28 day notice either so he obviously agreed to that too.
