It was just a general comment at the whole "i don't give a s**t" attitude of some members which changes to "I'm a union member,get me out of this s**t" very quickly the minute it hits the fan.

You do not have to wear a high vis jacket whilst you are delivering,you do have to wear it if you are a driver, and in the yard,I now await incoming from the health and safety police.

You also (in another thread) made the remark about "people grassing their mothers up. I'm glad I don't work with them."
You have probably never had to represent a member in a conduct case where he has deliberately flouted H&S rules.

I made that remark about the time of month because you fly off the handle way too quick the only thing I refer to about the hi viz vest is the uniform regs and in there it doesn't state that you have to wear hi viz whilst delivering,I have been stopped twice by I.B whilst delivering (on foot) for routine checks,all the stuff about having specials and making sure my pouch only had the correct stuff in ,I was asked about hi viz and I said I wore it in the yard but not on delivery,I didn't have to explain why I didn't have it on me.About the people grassing their mothers up,most days I hear people moaning to managers about people that finish earlier than them and how some people sneak off I.P before their correct time and that's what I meant.Now chill out and talk to me like I talk to you i.e like we are face to face.

After reading some of the post's on here I do stand by the remark that I wouldn't like to work with them,I do see it in my office and I see it on here about grassing people up,most people are very quick to have a go at the poor sod that leaves his keys in the van,yes we all know it's wrong,same as we all know it's wrong to have more than one parcel on the front seat when you are delivering parcels,we know it's wrong to doorstep parcels but I and many more people doorstep plants albeit out of sight,as for the health and safety police I do believe in health and safety but some of the rules that RM and other companies have have nothing to do with the welfare of their workers and are enforced solely to try and cover their backs,there is plans underfoot to get rid of some of the more ludicrous rules and IMHO it cannot happen soon enough.Right answer that sensibly

Some people are bullied to go faster, so they do break the rules, while others do it to finish early. Why should the short cut merchants get away with it, its not "grassing" when the managers are using the short cut times to bully the people who are doing it right to go faster.

There was a post on this site somewhere about a manager getting caught bringing fags back,and as it turned out he was a right tw8t and in the past he has been responsible for getting good posties sacked,I don't know how to link to it,in the same post it said that he had given people their money back call me old fashioned but people were quite happy to give this person their money in the hope of getting a few cheap fags,then everybody wants to grass him to moya in the hope that he loses his job,so who's worse the manager or the hypocrites that turned a blind eye to the sacking of workers while they were in line to get a few cheap fags,that is just one case.
