No, simple fact. In deliveries, do your normal job Thursday, finish at your proper time, then your off til the Wednesday morning.
But if you follow the Union rules implicitly and management ask you to cover a round after yours and you finish yours after 12.00 you cant do it, but how many will.

Also Madelin it counts from when your shift or overtime starts so if you usually start at 5.00 or 7.00 you do not have to go in after midday.

From what i can see,it DOES NOT mean you stop work at 12,if you're a delivery Postie.

commencing at or after 12 noon on Thursday 4th October

This is for collections and Mail Centers.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

i was allways told that if your shift starts b4 the strike start time you have to finish it
thats why when were on the picket line a normal driver brings up the lorry with the mail on it and a scabby manager drives it past us

OK, Saturday!!

If your a 6am-2pm for example you finish at 2pm!

If your at work Sunday night 10pm til 6 am, you finish at 6am Monday morning (even tho strike stars mon 3am).

It all depends on when your shift starts that's the deciding factor not where you work. At least till the functional rolling strikes start again.

The strike will cover all duties, Scheduled Attendance and overtime commencing at or after 12 noon on Thursday 4th October 2007 and before 12 noon on Saturday 6th October 2007 and all duties, Scheduled Attendance and overtime commencing at or after 03.00 on Monday 8th October 2007 and before 03.00 on Wednesday 10th October.
