That's not just any monday though LL.
Think about it.

Yes, I forgot, December isn't it, not usually the quietest month for us, and three weeks before a certain public holiday too ?

The second Monday in December is traditionally predicted to be the busiest day of Christmas pressure.
I'm not sure it always pans out that way but as with all of Royal Mail's predictions it has as much chance of being wrong as right.
Dear me, when will we ever learn, you work for an employer who gave you a contract to work so many hours per day, so just work the hours go home and receive your pay slip each week - simples
Strike action will NOT achieve anything.
NO bags on shoulders please except for Moya who keeps her big fat wage packet in hers

what you suggest seems to have already been tried by the members in Bristol and has achieved nothing. So what next? doff your flap cap and get on with it?

Nice in theory but at what point do you escalate if nothing is being done to tackle managerial bullying, harassment, unmanageable workloads, increasing sick levels and unpaid overtime. Yes, what you suggest is a good initial and individual tactic but at some point you have to make a stand or in effect you are accepting and sanctioning the above treatment and it will just continue.
Lines have to be drawn, but I think its a mistake to draw them when it limits our actions.

I bet there was a similar quote to this over 100 years ago. Employees worked something like an 18 hour days and only got Christmas day off. At least we know one person who would have been contented.
i can only imagine whats going on at Bristol, but i know that the revisions are a complete joke, our office still is,, ridiculous work loads way too big to complete, well done,, lets hope it turn out to be a national strike..

They should have put strike days in for the Saturday and following Monday, minimum loss of wages to staff and the most disruption to deliveries

The reason these posties are striking is the bullying and harrassment from managers to complete even if it means going over their time, very easy for you to to say just work your time perhaps you are in an office where managers are ok and don't give their staff much grief

I would have to disagree on minimum loss of wages - back in 2007 they attempted a similar thing and had a strike planned over the pay reporting date and RM played dirty and docked our pay in the same week
