The old saying is buy cheap, buy twice. I think Royal Mail will find out that if you employ a cheap work force it will cost them twice in the long run as the mountains of claims run up. Unfortunately the current management team are unable to see beyond the end of their noses, and from other threads it appears that the heads of our union are quite happy to line their own pockets. Have they seen the beginning of the end and making hay while the sun shines?

Re: Eddie Stobart
In summary we won't have to deliver anything to do with parcels? Or is it just the stuff we have parcel drivers dedicated to? If the later then just sourcing all our work to pf would have the same outcome to rm as a two tier service.

Re: Eddie Stobart
So why did the Network 12 revision go ahead? I was at the briefing in July at CWU hq. Terry Pullinger mentioned why they went to dispute over the proposals for the Network drivers, which included the use of outside hauliers and also the management not wanting to look at alternative work options for the drivers as the mail side of the operation is dwindling. Therefore it seems to me that the union knew about the plans back in April/May, so why did CWU agree to the revision. Also on another point, why is it that this upcoming briefing not open to local reps as well, as we are the one to whom the members turn?
