Isn't it 6.6p per Poll Card times an estimated 2½ cards per Drop which totals 16.5p per drop ?

Yes....are you ready for this?monkeymutha wrote:Anyone know why it varies from office to office?
In the past agreements over delivery of poll cards and election material in general were done at area level and based on an "hours" system so say 7 candidates plus poll cards would earn you X+Y=Z hours.
Some areas got good deals and some not so good...winners and losers if you like.
Around 2003 the hours system was converted into a pence per item system using the original hours agreed which left some offices with a higher rate with the minimum being 3p/item.
and the maximum payment 6.6p/item
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Re: No o.t. for poll card delivery
We were told last week we would be delivering some election stuff this week and we would be getting paid per item for them. Today, all change, they were in with the D2DS, with apparently no extra payment at all. These were the purple leaflets, not polling cards. Is someone pulling a fast one?

No there is a D2D leaflet - Pink rather than purple and we don't get paid for it.harrymortimer wrote:We were told last week we would be delivering some election stuff this week and we would be getting paid per item for them. Cheers that's the one. Shows the high regard I have for our gaffers when I think there might have been fiddling going on.

Re: No o.t. for poll card delivery
Had the poll cards come into the office today, These are not walk sorted and nobody really knows how many they have.Obviously with there being hundreds per walk and also with extra cards on the absorbed/lapsed we do you can hardly count them individually. Is the 2 1/2 card average per drop an agreed amount cos really we are on a wing as to what our actual count will be.Lounge Lizard wrote:Isn't it 6.6p per Poll Card times an estimated 2½ cards per Drop which totals 16.5p per drop ?![]()

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: No o.t. for poll card delivery
We are getting 3.3p each, which apparently is the minimum.
The DOM offered 6p each, on the condition that we agreed to no cut-offs on monday or tuesday.
Rep asked us, we said no as there are at least 20 walks cutting off everyday.
DOM wasnt happy, but the 3.3p is agreed now

Re: No o.t. for poll card delivery
3p per card, 3 days to deliver 'em. Took 4 days to do mine and some of the staff will take all week. They were in our office for days before being put out for deliver on SATURDAY!...manager doesn't work Saturday
As for counting them, lifes too short! 2 1/2 times per house leaves me in pocket, if the manager wants to know the exact count he can do 'em!
He seems to know exactly how much mail I have any other day of the week!

Re: No o.t. for poll card delivery
We had those today. Ours are 3p a card. Ours come in very late as did the mech. Nearly every walk cut off atleast 2 bags! As did I. Screw the overtime. They dont pay enough!rinky wrote:In our office today we were informed that we will be delivering polling cards on monday. We are to be paid the 2p per card delivered but have been told that there is to be no pressure overtime to be claimed but the cards must be delivered. Surely this 2p per item cant be used to replace overtime, i thought it was an additional supplement. Where do we stand?
