"one of our exhalted leaders" - the mind boggles.wheresourmoney wrote:An update on the above topic, after much digging it appears that our rep was at a confrence with one of the top 2 in the union and while discussing the days topics he made the comment " that in his opinion it wont be long before royal mail pushes for non delivery on tues", sorry about the false alarm folks, i put it down to over excitment on our reps part, due to the fact he had just met one of our exhalted leaders.wheresourmoney wrote:Our rep stood up in yesterdays team brief and told us he had some bad news, the news being that royal mail are pushing for everybody to have tues off because that is the lightest day of the week and it will save money. If thats the case why cant they make it a saturday which is what 90% of the workforce wants,we were not able to ask him if it was just our office or country wide as it took 10 min for everyone to calm down and by then he had a meeting to go to.If this is true ( i see no reason for him to lie ) can you imagine the job losses, has any one else recieved this info.

How would Tuesday make sense anyway? Are businesses going to put up with their staff hanging around on one day in the week with no work? Really are the leadership up to speed on what this business is about.

Re: team brief bombshell
most firms would not miss a saturday delivery, but having one day a week where payments won't arrive and invoices won't be sent will send them scurrying to a rival company that will deliver/collect monday-friday…
