Harry, i understand where you are coming from in respect of your comments regarding D2Ds. I hate the bloody things as much as you do when it comes to prepping and delivering them. But the point is, if you were starting up a business, or even advertising a bring and buy sale, how would you go about it. You have to identify a possible customer base, and you have to let those prospects know what you are doing. The quickest and cheapest way of doing this is by way of a mail drop, whether it be you printing something up on a computer and delivering it yourself, or by employing an agency to do it for you and arrange delivery. This type of advertising is always based on a numbers game, and a response of between 5 and 10 percent. It works. If it didn,t D2Ds would have dropped off the face of the earth years ago. It is important to remember that all of these company,s that advertise through us on a regular basis, have employees that are reliant on the business that is generated through direct marketing, to keep their jobs. Per haps if we all thought a little bit more, how important the outcome is from delivery of D2Ds for the rest of the working population, it might be less of a burden to face prepping and delivering them.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Firstly I do not believe that they do not keep records of comments one and two.

This happened about 10 years ago.

A disabled lady that was on my round opted out from any form of leaflets and had notices placed on her front door and porch to express her wish not to recieve them.

Well this local pizza company kept delivering them and after being ignored by the shop manager she eventually employed the services of a solicitor and this resulted in the manager having to go to court.
She won her case via a trespassing law and he was given a suspended sentence but it did happen again but he could not be tracked down to return to court.
She was a stubborn lady. It cost her a good few quid but she was not worried, I could understand her plight as she was severely disabled and could not pick anything up of the floor.
