i suppose it depends if your a docket king or queen and your going to lose your overtime you might have a claim but i would be interested in making a claim next time

Iwas bitten by a german shepherd pierced my skin went to hospital for injection .My mates said i should have claimed and got a couple of grand .I asked what for , JUST SAY !! u were traumatised by experience etc .But for me thats being dishonest .It saddens me that in a world that we live in thats what its all about claim, claim claim ,now if you were attacked by a dog and u were SAVAGLY attacked , nose bitten off , fingers bitten off stiches that sort of attack thats a diffrent matter .But to claim AND SAY YOU WERE TRAUMATIZED when you were not is being DECEITFULL .Its like people who claim for WHIPLASH in a car accident when someone tickles the back of the car and thenclaim to have horrendous whiplash injuries sicken me cause in my eyes people who do that are fraudsters end off .

no disrespect ment but i get tired of people who play the where there is blame, there is a claim card

if you get to see the amount of dog claim photos that i see then you will have a different way of thinking. the days of postmen and dogs being the butt of jokes belongs in the stone age. people are allways traumatised by a dog attack, no matter how minor.
there is nothing dishonest in being traumatised.

people deserve to be compensated for there injuries through either neglect or incompetance of the dog owners.
there is also a financial cost involved with dog attacks.

for every £1.00 lost to the individual through sickness, it costs the employer £11.00

please people consider all options before posting negative comments untill you have the full picture

Keith its not a negative post , i was attacked by a german shepherd and it scared the daylights out of me .But to say oh everytime i go to bed and close my eyes i see a german shepherd and im traumatized AND YOUR NOT that is deceitfull .So to fluff up your state of mind just to get compo is down right dishonest and for people who do that, i hope the dishonesty in it all comes back to bite them !!

i agree in what you are saying but it is the point in which the dog attacks you and the after effects in hospital for treatment that traumatises and scares people through no fault of there own.

if they go onto suffering PTSD, THEN A PSYCOLOGIST will diagnose that condition

insurances companies are well aware of the claim culture and can usually tell who is swinging the lead

It is common to hear stories of the “Compensation Culture” or claims that Britain is becoming “Risk Averse” as a result of people claiming compensation. The truth is very different.

Each year over 850,000 people are injured or made ill as a result of their job. The most common injuries are musculoskeletal disorders such as back injury or RSI, injuries from slips and falls, skin diseases, and deafness. Many people will get better, some will not. Over 25,000 people are forced to give up work every year as a result of work-related injuries or illness.

However the number who gain compensation from their employer is, according to the Association of British Insurers, around 60,000 a year. A further 20,000 will make a successful claim for industrial injuries benefit, which is a government
funded “no fault” scheme. This means that 9 out of every 10 workers who are injured or made ill through work get no compensation.
"Today’s workplace has become heartless and soulless. Employees are seen as units of labour, automatons, functionaries, objects for achieving designated tasks, and as costs to be minimised."
