They are quick enough with all H&S issues 11 months of the year ie. weighing your bags, van checks fire exits clear strappex on the floor etc but December comes and they dont give a toss.

Shall I tell you a secret? They don't actually give a toss .......ever.eastie wrote:They are quick enough with all H&S issues 11 months of the year ie. weighing your bags, van checks fire exits clear strappex on the floor etc but December comes and they dont give a toss.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

True but it's a great stick to beat them with, legal issues are much stronger than IR issuesclashcityrocker wrote:Shall I tell you a secret? Too many chiefs, not enough Indians.
This seemingly endless cost-cutting is undermining the service we should be providing.
The more full-time staff that are got rid of, the harder it will be to provide even a half-decent service to the general public, whatever the time of year it happens to be.

Re: Who's office is chock a block with packets & parcels
Our office is a joke, packets everywhere.
My walk today was just chaos, never ever seen anything like it in my 11 yrs there! oh it could have quite a bit to do with the revision
I had 5 full drop bags PLUS Fridays and Saturdays packets to go with the mail that was left from Saturday ( due to ice ) and 5 trays of mech then not to mention every hole was bursting with mail
Drivers are supposed to get rd of the packets but as i say they've not touched 'em since Friday
I'd just had enough really and worked till my time ( like i always do )
Merry Christmas!

They do give a toss when it suits them... i.e. when they decide to sack someone for some minor H&S infringement.clashcityrocker wrote:Shall I tell you a secret? Same here but we've had a nightshift preparing the packets and on IPS and all the extra staff have been out on packets/parcels for a fortnight. Had hardly any tracked today - about 150 but almost 600 Specials and that I would think is that for this year, getting ready for my 4 day breakfishtank wrote:Ours is clear,![]()
You could finance another Channel Tunnel on the overtime bill though.

Re: Who's office is chock a block with packets & parcels
we have 8 driving duties that do firms 1st then onto packets with the time we have left , up until today it looked crap but today we`ve somehow managed to get through a load , i save a lot of time as a lot of people were actualy in when i knocked on door , got rid of twice as many as i did yesterday in the same time , i`m hoping tomorrow will be the same as that will make clearing the offica for saturday a big possibilty , everyone in our office say they aint working over xmas eve but when it comes to it and if needed the managers know we will work till all packets have been delivered as we do this for the customer rather than royal mail , i`de hate to think some kids pressies are sat in the office over xmas time , i`m sure i speak for many as we get treat like shat and get hardly any overtime ect but on xmas eve we`ll give it that bit extra for the simple reason thinking people are waiting for xmas pressies and is why most will work over doing packets on saturday .

Re: Who's office is chock a block with packets & parcels
They were offering 4 hours a york today without any offers.
Then at 2pm one of the drivers said he would take a york. He took one which was only half full
not sure if he will get the full amount
We have about 9 yorks going nowhere. They are talking of suspending the firms deliveries on xmas eve and sending them out on packets.

Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

One of these super offices is it where the gnomes and elves deliver everything and never claim o/t ....? was at a mail centre where packets were simply stuck for days but santa has gotten involved and they all dissapeared overnight
wonder how many artic trailers are stashed full of undelivered items this year
