What a fantastic Idea, lets wait until AFTER Christmas to fall out, that way we'll be headed into Feb. before we take action. Should be a bit warmer then and that allows RM to push through a bit more of their agenda in the meantime, well played CWUHQ

Too Little, Too Late springs to mind..............This forum has been warning of these problems, but few have listened
Obviously there has been an interim agreement to discuss the problems to get us through the christmas period.

So have any off you been out on strike at Christmas I bet the answer is no. The reality is that it is a red herring that we are strongest at Christmas , yes the work is up but equally our members do have other priorities at Christmas and going on strike is not upper most on their mind.

I have been on strike at christmas twice and I know that even those who are normally calling for more action change especially as the £100 Xmas bonus is also effected.

Now I know people moan about more talking and I have been critcal myself but no one can say this is not a complex situration with regards
to the EU State Aid and of course we all the fall out on the consequences of the Postal Act and our pensions.

Now lets be clear the colleague share issue is dead. Colleague Share was dependent on the value of the company and of course the company is worth nothing at the moment with a pension defcit and the fact that the business plan is also going west. The reality is colleague share was always a con and how many on here moaned when the union got the last share £1000 on revison payments , some said that that the union was using money which we was always going to get.

Now in terms of the delivery issues some still see the science like IWT etc being used in the delivery revisons going forward , but they need to understand Royal Mail`s delivery best praticise revisons have failed , that setting revisions based on 100BSI is never going to work, having a model week which is so low will never work , not having a delivery packet solution or tracked solution will see further problems and having a workforce which do not understand the logic which the revisons are based on will never work.

So setting a date of the 18th January is a good thing. Why dont you join us and others who have said until the 100BSI point of principle has been resolved than no further revisons which are based on 100BSI will be agreed

The company had a larger pension deficit, lower profits and arguably was in at least as precarious a position this time last year....and paid out £1,400 in colleagueshares to leavers.
The colleague share issue is dead because it suits both parties to set up yet another incentive scheme.
With the same money...again. :cuppa

Fishtank your fishing in the wrong pond. The Colleague Share issue was dead due to Royal Mail the union did not have anything to do with it fact.

Moya Greene came in after Crozier and worked out that the Business Transformation Plan was never going to work. She then revalued the company ,she lengthen the plan to 5 years and then the colleague share money was wothless as the company was worth nothing.

She's pretty good if she managed that but the point is dingo,if you include the pension deficit which i know you love to then the company was worth less than nothing last September,in fact it was worth even less than that when the Colleagueshare system was set up.

So are you saying she single handedly changed the worth of a company with billions in assets and a multi-billion pound revenue stream or are you telling me that she changed the way the Colleagueshares are valued which with her being a lawyer you would expect she would know would be highly dangerous from a legal point of view.
Or did Royal Mail just tell the union where to go.

If the company is worth nothing how will they sell it. :cuppa

Right so all we need is yet another worthless incentive scheme. As for the union having nothing to do with it, they hardly decried it's use as an incentive to accept the BT 2010 as I recall. The pile just gets bigger as far as I'm concerned.

Reading between the lines(what else is there? ).
We are almost 2 years into a 3 year deal or since the pay talks have been escalated...about to start year 1 of a new 3 year deal which will take us more or less to that 2015 time frame.
...but you're right...it would be nice if someone would come clean. :wave

Well that's a very good question......................but I think we know the answer already, the company is poor, the pension fund is in deficit, Moya has revalued the company, there has been a massive expenditure on equipment, times are hard, it's a very difficult situration......yep I think you can safely say it's been accepted right enough.

Dingo, has the extension to the BT2010 plan ever been endorsed by the membership? Surely if there has been a change to an agreement that we were asked to endorse in the first place, then any extension or material change to that should also be put to the members.

Any extension to BT2010 would have to include a new pay deal for years 4 and 5 (2013/14 and 2014/15).
Any new pay deal will have to be put before the membership.

Dvbuk and Fish I have said it before your like a tag team ! Look Greene had just been employed by the Government and no doubt had been chosen and had discussions on steps with the Government.

Its very easy to say a Government with a pension defcit which is the biggest in Europe cannot now afford to pay money past next April 2012 because the business plan which had been constructed by Crozier and Higson does not work and that they have to now come up with a new longer business plan which is based over 5 years and is dependent on a zero balance sheet so no colleague share and that they need the government to write off the loan.

Its what has happened. You can see all the smokescreens and mirrors you like but that is what has taken place and its up to you what you believe.
