problems like that will occur either it's fallen behind in standards and have not been resurfaced by a council... or maybe they are adopted roads etc which a council is not liable for. maybe that catherine rd google map image is adopted??

what RM should be doing is liase with the council, mp or whover months ahead, and not leave it until the last minute and leave everyone in the
and here comes avi cohen! oh i say! at the same end, he's got one back!!

Many now face a round trip of up to hour in order to collect their mail from their nearest sorting office.
that makes it sound like it's ok for the residents to travel on the roads but not for rm??

have the councils refused to drive their vehicles on them or refuse lorry? if the council have been given the go-ahead to drive on them, surely rm is neither above or beneath the council assessment?

walking on uneven council roads, paths and pavements plays fk with the legs and back with developed injuries and strains

True. But it's the residents who'll be paying for repairs to their cars, not RM, and it's for them to take it up with the Council, or pay for the repairs if it's a privately owned road. Not RM. :hmmmm

It depends on the type of vehicle. Bin lorries have better ground clearence than the vans you use on deliveries, and they're MUCH more stable than a bike. :hmmmm

Exactly! Why should Posties risk injuries, because either the Council or residents (depending on who owns the road) can't be bothered to keep up with the maintenance?

Do you know whether that particular road is owned by the Council or the residents?
It would be interesting and useful to know who's responsibility it is, to repair the road.

I think you need to ask for a reduction. Does'nt council tax cover the counties highways?
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
