Re: Mail center barcodes sticker placed over addresses
Managers in mail centres will have no experience at all of what goes on in a delivery office. I would have thought that following on from their attitude to work in general that they couldnt give a toss and just want to get it out of the mail centre and on a lorry. They couldnt care less if its going to the wrong place or if its damaged, or if the address is now obscured, they just want it out the door and to be someone else's problem. Processing the mail for the public is now second to be seen to be joining in with world class mail.

who has came in from a DO and you are correct in saying that all the managers
want is the mail out the MC door, they dont appreciate the job the delivery
folks do or what it entails. As for the stickers on the addresses that is a Tops 2k
machine problem that management dont seem too bothered about getting sorted
as it's been an ongoing problem in our office for almost 3 years now

the funny thing is it seems the MCs are making it harder
we now get sequenced trays with the back 2 columns facing the back of the yorkie
normal packets mixed in with the tracked
tracked in with the packets
our 2nd feed of SDs is now a mixed yorkie (thats 4 postcodes)
even normally they only splitthe 2 larger postcodes

Re: Mail center barcodes sticker placed over addresses
Thought that two back columns facing the back of the york was a bit odd. Its supposed to allow people to see the labels of whats in the york, well thats what they say. Turns out its unnesessary and results in a lot of extra twisting for all involved. I had a tracked packet and asked my manager what to do with it. He said put it in with the ordinary packets. In the packets area if someone on ordinary packets walked from there to the tracked packets area a manager would probably say to them why are you over here. To avoid manager contact they would probably just sort it with the rest, especially if just the other day they had their third sorting test of the year and they are an excellent sorter.

Re: Mail center barcodes sticker placed over addresses
problem is if that tracked is incorrectly handled at the DO
eg we dont receive it as ready for delivery
thats a failure on us
we get the exact same crap with sorting, performance etc
no allowance is made for things such as trays the wrong way, coded instead of sequenced etc

Not if you report it to your DOM, and ask him/her to report the MC's failure. Whether he/she can be bothered to do so, I don't know. But it's worth a try.

When they are reported the MC manager just gets his friend the DSM to tell the DOM off for reporting it (can't have someone rocking the boat you know).andy2007 wrote:Not if you report it to your DOM, and ask him/her to report the MC's failure. reporting the same thing over and over again is futile
