d2d on day off

1.It's live mail.
2.If your cover left a tray of 1st class on your day off would it be your right not to deliver it?

FT, I'm genuinely intrested in this scenario without knowing the official line, but surely there are issues here which favour the duty holder...

The duty holder should know full well that 1/6th D2D minimum should be delivered daily without fail, it is after all "live mail."

The lino should surely be expected to check the frames in their section and clearly see D2D was left in the frame by the day off cover?
In the case of a missed tray of 1st class mail, surely this should be picked up by the lino on the morning it happened and get it delivered at all costs, even by him/her self if need be, to prevent their own willful delay in ignoring live mail on top of the day off cover's willful delay?

So if the cover does not deliver any mail including their correct portion of D2Ds and the lino claims to be oblivious until the next day, surely its both of their necks on the line for not doing their expected responsibilities and the duty holder grabs their rep the next morning and both go straight to the DOM to report the incident?

Yes..it should be both their necks on the line for not delivering it on say...the Wednesday.
Then it's your neck on the line for refusing to deliver it on Thursday.
Different day..different line...same result.
It won't make you feel any better if the two guys next to you in the dole queue are your cover and your lino.

Had covers not deliver d2d on 2 days last week, pulled them out of the frame and stuck them back in the box underneath both times. Tells lino what's going on, they get a word in their shell like and i have to deliver the c*nts.
This week d2d didnt appear until tuesday got moved from the walk for a couple of days then me day off, amazing how many d2d there were left to do in the remaining 2 days of the week, having to adjust 1/6th of the d2d to 1/5th must have proved too much mathematics for some folk.

you need to remember people that all door to door is classed as live mail

20 % needs to be done each day even if there is no regular post ,only leaflets going to an address

it can be classed as willful delay

Actual I will beg to differ with you there, the national agreement does not state a fifth or a sixth per day,

the agreement states:

"The growth ambitions for Door to Door will be managed responsibly, and will be supported in the medium term by the roll out of delivery methods across units nationwide.

In the interim to ensure that D2D workload is covered effectively in line with this agreement, and in advance of units realigning duties through full revision activity to take account of D2D, resourcing of hours associated with the workload linked to D2D will be dealt with through locally agreed interim arrangements and reviewed through the weekly resourcing meetings in all delivery units. To aid the transition, offices that have not deployed delivery methods revisions will have to provide genuine and demonstrable solutions to any weight or volumetric issues.

In addition to the above special attention will need to be given to Bank Holiday weeks through the weekly resourcing meetings, units will also need to have agreed contingency arrangements in place for late arrivals."

on my day off person who did my duty prepped his quota of d2ds but only delivered where he was going leaving me with rest to deliver next day.
i instructed line manager i wasnt prepared to do someone elses work and was not doing the d2ds not covered.
upon saying this line manager told me i would do as im instructed its my responsibility to make sure all d2ds are done by end of week regardless of what day cover does.
said they would speak to person responsible aye right .
i then said if i was forced to do these i would cut off to which i was threatened with count of non att calls, prep rate etc. again i said i would cut off then threatened with performance and i will stand beside you , i then said fine i will still cut off then was told say that again and your in office for your attitude im sure my collegues will back me up, i said im sure they will its called bullying.
where do i stand on this issue advice please

You are on dangerous ground there. That is itself could be seen as threatening behaviour and is certainly refusing to do a reasonable request. If you are told to do them don't say 'If you make me do them I will cut off' say 'It will take me over my time if I do the extra d2d and so I will not be able complete the delivery'. There is a difference in the language but it means the same thing.

All you can do if he insists is do the extra and work to your time then put in a grievance complaint based on you being told to pick up anothers work load and the manager treating you differently from the day off guy by expecting you do d2d but not expecting him to do them.
