The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: shambles ?
try 28 quid a week this is not to wind you up i am gutted that all drivers
dont get the same but atleast you know now.but what is annoying me is
at the end of the day we all do the same job.
i just hope now the drivers on 6£ start putting docket each week 4 hours should do it.
as for the size of the vans or lorries it should make no differance we all still drive.
it does make me think how out of touch we are from each other.

Re: shambles ?
It doesn't wind me up. I don't drive.
And there are very few drivers on even £6. That is grandfather rights. The new drivers get sweet FA.
They don't think it is right. I don't think it is right. But all we have got is the national agreement to go by.
So what size van are you driving for your £28?

It's nothing to do with being out of touch with each other it's to do with agreements...namely the Way Forward in 2000/1.north london driver wrote:try 28 quid a week this is not to wind you up i am gutted that all drivers

Only LGV(3.5t-7.5t) and MGV(over 7.5t) attract a driving allowance now....vans don't.
If you drove a van prior to 2000 you have your £6 reserved rights payment unless you voluntarily moved off the driving like POSTMAN.
The union negotiated this deal, the membership accepted it and it's the same all over the country.
Nobody should be putting any docket in.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

That's what the "high top allowance" is.
All the allowances are covered in here.

At our office 400's and crew buses get £28. Anyone covering these duties can book it however long they've been driving. No, we are not London.
I drive a combi and get sweet F.A.
