It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Seems perfectly fair to me.You know where you can stick your equal opportunities, the same place as political correctness should go.
Why should someone whom has been in the buisness longer than i not be offered full time before me,they have served their time and earnt the privilidge.
I am annoyed that in my office in 12 years i was only ever asked if i wanted to go full time once,i turned it down at the time, but found over the years others were made full time without me being asked first.
In my office 3 of us have been made full time and have now found out that during the so called 12 week light period we are having to go back down to part time, only about a month ago we were told that we would be made perminent full time, but now have been messed about by my boss being given orders from one of the pr**s in seniority to him(the regional prick) i am in limbo now wondering if i actually will go fulltime after the 12 week period, now that really does take the piss :arrrghhh

In most walks of life there is some sort of Seniority, it may not be a perfect sysytem but it's fairly easy for most people to grasp. (Apart from a few scheming DIMs with hidden agendas, who still need it explained to them :whistle )

In these difficult times I would like to see some sort of Merit System tied in with the Seniority. If you've got Good Attendance, not a lot of Absence, No Discipline Problems (or lots of complaints against you) and have a certain amount of Flexibility in your Attitude, I believe that should be Recognised and Rewarded. :hmmmm Unfortunately whose going to be the one to make those decisions? Management? :left:

I expect there are quite a few "Good Hard Working"" 5 year Posties out there and an equal ammount of "Useless Idle Tossers" who are probably a lot more Senior! :whistle
