Floaters used to have it easy before park and loop in our office generally speaking that is but now Floaters cannot dupe those on fixed duties and we all know the sneeky tricks they used to pull, don't we :whistle

Absolute backbreakers :shock: Our lino apparently decreed that they weren't heavy enough to be taken by the drivers. despite them having naff all else to deliver today. Great planning
if they are BB then this quote from WTLL discussion guide - Royal Mail Heavyweight should help: http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... ht#p301794" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

"Are we expected to take these out in pouches?
No. All RM Heavyweight items above 1kg will be delivered by vans. In some instances it may be operationally feasible to use High Capacity Trolleys for low volumes"

SHould be definitive enough :Very Happy
'Operational needs' was quoted to us this morning when we produced this.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I did, I threw them out for the day-off cover driver but he left them so there's going to be more fun tomorrow morning.

So have you got a plan of action ready for if those catalogues mysteriously end up back at your frame in the morning?

Surely the whole point of the weight threshold is to protect the short but especially the long term health implications of carrying heavy items? Why should a 2.8Kg catalogue be treated any differently from any other item over 1Kg, regardless of whether you have one or six hundred to deliver, whether its on a single day or over the course of a year??

I've printed off the Heavyweight guide ready for the morning but I've heard the DOM told people "you'll take what you're told" so I expect I'll be in trouble.

Problem in our office is the packet men throw off the packets, so guess where these ended up, no-one in our office queried them, we just assumed because we now have golf trollies and vans we had to take them.

If you have trolleys and vans it should not be an issue,whole point of p&l is to reduce workload for packet men and do away with their duties.

Told we had to take them so I handed the downloaded PDF to our rep and then we were asked if we could take any that were close to the start of our duties and the driver would take the rest. :dance
