Have to agree with that. The B & H is back and managers are picking on people asking if they've personal issues because they can't complete. I can see the s**t hitting the fan very very soon. Everyone is exhausted and then they are coming back off delivery and told they are'nt trying hard enough!
Yes and that is my point exactly - the jobs changed so much now I question my future in it and it's upset me because lime many I care ! However we are being asked too much of and it's very wrong :(

Being moved on is not something new! We have all been there in the early days and we didn't like it. As the years go on your seniority builds and you get the pick of your choice....the problem is some think it is a round for life let alone a job for life. As the modernisation program takes hold there'll be more of this because it is unavoidable. It's time to face facts, I'm afraid the hail fellow well met from the "local" postman is long gone. The village mentality has to go Royal Mail is after all a profit making organisation not a philanthropic one, if you could turn a profit by opening jars, taking in washing etc great - otherwise it has to go.

The job has changed sadly...now it's like any other job.
You go in,you do what's asked of you within reason and you go home.
It's not how any of us wanted it but to be honest we(collectively) have to take some of the blame.
Instead of protecting the job we tore it to shreds.
Now we are paying the price for that, along with mismanagement, unfair competition, modernisation and basically the world moving on.
The Postman Pat mindset has to go,as does the early finish.
Both are equally irrelevant now.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Unfortunately I have to agree with you Fish. However no business can run properly on continual change. We won the last war on the commitment, dedication, professionalism and comeradery of a fighting force. This type of behaviour by Royal Mail is designed only to pit each man against the other. No business can thrive on an ununified workforce.

Post of the year. Totally agree..
Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

while Mr Garton, 52, has been picked to deliver on Ermine East.

Surely Mr. Garton has chosen this new walk or have they completely done away with the Way Forward agreement in Lincoln and the DOM is allocating certain duties to certain people? :hmmmm
You have to laugh at Little England with their petitions though. Do they really believe anyone gives a f**k?
Yes, poor journalism or research. No backstory to the fact that Lincoln is currently going through a repick. Both posties picked and have chosen their new deliveries. Managers did not, of course, pick for them unless they REFUSED to pick. I do not work there so can't be 100% on that.

They'll probably take it out on the two new posties delivering there.
