Re: Trackers in Vans invasion of privacy
Weve had trackers in our vans for quite a while ,when they told us they were going in .We asked what would they would be used for ,they said it was for speeding ,harsh braking .We asked would they be used to batter one postman against another ,would we do that
,and to no suprise thats what they do .Along with why was your van idle for 4 min ,5 min (engine running but not moving )of course they ALWAYS take it your dragging your feet not that your getting a register sighned for or your leaving a notice when no ones in NO its always the worst YOUR WASTING TIME

Re: Trackers in Vans invasion of privacy
My dom called me into office on saturday morning and sat me down... he started his dressing down like i was a naughty school-boy sat in front of the headmaster!!
He thought he had me cornered and he thought i had no where to run when he was questioning me on why i was on a peticular road at a certain time which wasnt on my route... I let him continue with his rant for several minutes just waiting for him to finish. Only then when he had finished did i smuggly remind him of the special that i had spoken to him about several hours before that was a collegues special that he couldnt deliver before 1pm.. just so happened that mid morning on my route is not too far off my collegues end of round so i agreed to do the special to help it connect!! just goes to show that they are big brother just waiting for you to step slightly out of line.... Geo route planning device my foot!

Use it to your advantage turn it around,
Put the mail in the back, keep to the speed limit, let it give them the bigger picture if you have done nothing wrong you have nothing to fear, very usefull tool if cannot complete deliveries etc

Harsh breaking, whats that? Breaking wind? Do you mean braking? Whats more important is what has the union done about this? Feck all, thats what.
Useless and toothless.

I've heard of transport firms that have hidden camera's in the cab of their trucks, sleeper cabs as well, they only switch off when the ignition is turned off.Eric Cantona wrote:I wouldn’t say it’s a invasion of privacy unless they have a camera fitted in the van. When I was a tram driver on Manchester’s Metrolink they had cameras in the cab watching every move you make, you couldn’t scratch your goolies without one of the female operators watching. It done my head in so I left and then ended up at RM.
