Now we are being told that anyone who is displaced from their original shift will go into a separate pool of people and will pick in common seniority any duties leftover.
Regardless if you are entitled to pay protection or not?

From what I've read of the mtsf it clearly states where a pay protection issue arrises that person has to pick the next highest available shift to cause least loss of allowance. Is this correct? Our reps adamant it's done the separate pool way. It's causing allot of confusion so can anyone clarify this please.

No thats not correct you align Displaced staff to the vacant duties using they Pay protection allowance, if they are 2 people who have same allowance then it is sorted by who has held that allowance the longest and if no one has any allowances then its seniority
As an area rep i'm going through this process at the moment and i can say its a minefield but we are getting there

Thats what I thought. Thank you for clearing that up :-) just got to try and convince our new rep now :-/ as our area rep who was based at our office has taken VR and left.
