I find it ridiculous to have quiet days at the start of the week and then be expected to pick up the slack later on in the week... and not to be allowed to book overtime due to the swings and roundabouts sysem.POSTMAN wrote:And you started off so well.I firmly believe that a Monday to Friday delivery would transform the company, 2 salaries could be released from my office alone and put to better use in a mail centre so avoiding the nothing to do days we normally endure on a monday and tuesday

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Agree with the special deliveries. Waste so much time trying to get them done. Should of been changed to next day. Other savings that dont work are changing the batteries in the vans to cheaper smaller ones. Dont start in cold weather. Getting rid of red vans and hiring them instead. Dont know which is more cost effective, but i do know if i go out in a hire van it will take me longer. No one lets a white van out.
