It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

To be more precise deliverys voted it in under the way forward agreement- they got a massive pay rise and the rest got stuffed. Dont moan about d2d to me they have brought it all on themselves by being so selfish and not sticking together 10yrs agoPOSTMAN wrote:WE voted it in!

No, Saturday and Sunday were 'double time' anyway, but Mon-Fri OT was also double time after the first 12 hours.bringon4dayweeks wrote:it was only double time on a saturdaybaldrick wrote:It came in with the Way Forward Agreement 2000, before that we used to get time and a quarter for first six hours,

People in my MC were trying to do 6 hours OT on Monday and Tuesday, so that they would be on double time on Wednesday.
I used to do 4 hours Mon-Wed and would be on double time on Thursday and Friday.

Re: So, you've worked 10 hours overtime. Then...
Same here, i got no choice but to work overtime because i am trapped in a temporay contract but i got to so i can pay the mortgage and i all i get off the full timers is a load of stick for being a brown nose lol. Wife told me today that she got a two hundred pound wage drop per month as well, hows that for being foooooked over. This is the future, unfortunately some of us have to live with it and when royal mail gets sold off, everyone involved with royal mail will be succumed to this mad age of treating everyone else like s**t including full timers. :dcfoBELIAL wrote:Yep I get it as well. Shite OT rate less folks do it /protect jobs.farmer69 wrote:So, Fishtank & Postman, it works. And to be fair, I agree with it, now I understand the rationale
Trouble is ,far too many numpties out there plus those stuck in the poverty trap who will work all day for half a dozen beans just to survive.
So disregarding the conspiracy theories you have to chalk it up to a leadership miscalculation/blunder.
Would have been more effective securing double time

And yes a lot to do with what you short sighted do staff did under way forward.
Our only dissapointment is that you are not doing more . If you had of supported us we would have been gutted you now dont get paid for them - i did my spell on footies over 20yrs ago and enjoyed the extra dosh -
It is only my opinion but i knew somewhere down the line you would have to pay for ya fantastic decade ago pay rise

Privatisation should be a larf as well...i would imagine filling the M/Cs with minimum wage casuals would be first on the shopping list.
I wouldn't wish that on most of my M/C colleagues but for you......i'll make an exception.
Solidarity forever.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share
