I really depends on which corner your cutting, example would be,

1) One carrying too much weight and injuring your back, Not your fault, bullied, Rm denial
or is it
2) Redirection - when sorting mail take the redirections. Maybe that will save your a 2 mins.

Health and Safety etc is their too help and protect people, if not going to use it, sadly people are going to learn the hard way.

The more members that are conducted the happier I will be.

Like your style might do the same!
The Managers won't do any of it as it works for them to have members cutting corners and bigging up their bonuses.

You're right NW...why would they?...there is nothing in it for them.
And the CWU can't...they don't have the authority so.....
That just leaves the members.

Up until now there really has been nothing in it for the ordinary "don't give a s**t" member but....
Things have and are changing and cutting corners will soon get you nothing but more work so hopefully the numbnuts will realise.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

If people are starting early to mask performance issue it is in the manager's interest to address this problem, especially pre revision or the introduction of shared vans will be a nightmare if you are paired with someone who simply isn't up to the job.
The other items on my "shopping list" all fall under H&S which is the manager's legal responsability. The fact most choose to ignore their obligations is just an accident waiting to happen.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
