It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

i have already told my customers that they are wasting their time buying online as they will be lucky to see their goods before mid january the way things are going ..... for example today i had 3 tiny packets for my entire delivery when on a normal day i get 1 1/2 drop bags of packets ... the past two weeks since this shitty weather began we have been getting a small fraction of the packets we normally recieve ... so they must be stock piling someplace

My sister lives in Dalkeith and managed to get one of the last buses out of Edinburgh the other day. Got off at Dalkeith and walked 2 miles home.

Re: You lazy sods,it's only a bit of snow!
Here in dunfermline we have had no packets, parcels, for a week now and customers are starting to panic...all we've been delivering is mail and thats all we've been delivering. Customers are asking "Where's my packet or parcel, i've been waiting 2 weeks for it now"? My ears are ringing and the snow on the side streets are still to be cleared, making it tricky conditions to work in.
All i know about the packets or parcels is that they are getting kept in a warehouse in bathgate! Oh and there are 180 yorks waiting for dunfermline...merry xmas!

A bloke on my walk always says we don't work hard enough to earn our money, the funny thing is the guy is on benefits, does he really think he earns his money.

If I were manager I would get everyone on packet duty and do delivery for packets and parcels to get it out. Then when come back throw out the walk until duty end. Then throw out walk next day and deliver it all on 3rd day. Hopefully backlog might be cleared.
