The thing is,down our way at least some PHG duties have for yonks gone to those who would probably suffer if they went outside.
It seems to be the norm and no one has complained as tbf no one wants(or wanted) to do the job anyway.
But,there could be someone one day who could be covered by DDA and could then be in trouble.
DDA has never been mentioned at my place I 1st heard about it on here,chances are if I ever mentioned it at my place they would take me down to the nearest STC clinic!

The DDA is our friend.
Anyone with a medical condition that has lasted or has been diagnosed to last more than 12 months is covered by the DDA.
This includes Diabetics Type 1 (Type 2 is less clear) asthmatics and people with heart conditions such as angina.
Any absences connected to their condition should be discounted from the normal absence procedure. Any conditions linked to the condition (diabetics often suffer urinary tract infections) should be discounted.
It keeps people off stages.
And if duties need to be ringfenced to provide indoor jobs for some people - so be it.

But what if you have a condition that is covered under DDA but comes and goes and could mean indoor work when you are bad. Should they consider indoor work OR only outdoor because
you have long periods of good health?
Only reason is, if you are bad and need indoor work then rm will never offer this after revisions?

Why won't they offer indoor work after revisions?....they have to offer a reasonable adjustment,if that means later on farther down the line you get ill and can't do deliverys then they should either offer you ill health retirement or a duty working indoors.(might not be at the same office though )
The only thing is with all the revisions going on at the moment if you even consider that your going to get bad periods it would be wise to seek out an indoor duty now rather than later on when you will have a fight to convince them you need an indoor job.

I have a condition that comes and goes and is covered by the DDA,as far as my MC is concerned i am treated the same as any other DDA that is, my duty is ringfenced during any re-sign.

You mention that you are covered by The DDA,has your duty been ajusted to take account of your condition?If not has there been a re-sign or have there been any vacant duties that you would be able to do since you came under the DDA.
