Re: Part Timers Trying To Make Fools of Full Timers.
When this part time chap does my walk he does not do any of the other work that i have to do before i get to the prep side, the thing that really winds me up is he does not do the D2D,he Re-directs mail that should not be Re-directed because he does not read the instruction,he leaves the deads and does not have the brains to look at the 3rd bag with packets in on the DBF and last but not least he does not take a M/R,i have got so fed up the first thing i do now is pick everything up put it all in trays and wheel it over to a manager and tell them to sort it out and dont give it back because i mark it so i know which bits are from the day before,so if he did all the job and didnt door step packets he would not be going home 1hr before me,but the managers have now decided not to put him on mine again as i dont put up with thier excuses for thier crap management.

To be fair I dont see it as a P/T or F/T divide, the majority of both at my office carve the guts out of the job
Any married man should forget his mistakes. There's no use in two people remembering the same thing.

Re: Part Timers Trying To Make Fools of Full Timers.
You have got to consider the wage part timers have to live off, for most it doesn't cover the weekly bills. They rush around and do overtime because they have mouths to feed and bills to pay just like anyone else. I reckon money is the primary motive for their actions, showing up their collegues who work full time probably doesn't enter their minds, we're all in the same boat. They put their heads down and get on with it, you can't knock their work ethic!
On a side note, I thought all walks were roughly the same size? The easiest walk in my office certainly couldn't be done in literally half the time of the hardest (on days of similar mail volume/traffic).

As a part timer, i find it highly annoying that a full timer gets finished before me every day! Demoralising..........more pay than me, but works less hours. Work that out.

So the full timer starts the same time as you then?? or are they on the IPS while you are still asleep!?tommythreesheds wrote:As a part timer, i find it highly annoying that a full timer gets finished before me every day! Demoralising..........more pay than me, but works less hours. Work that out.

Me too, they do start earlier than me but only by 30 mins but most of them get done same time as me, yet 3 or 4 get done a good hour and half before me and over a week thats a good few quid more than I get for less hours.tommythreesheds wrote:As a part timer, i find it highly annoying that a full timer gets finished before me every day! Re: Part Timers Trying To Make Fools of Full Timers.
Totally barking up the wrong tree pal,you need to take a look from other peoples perspectives to understand it,firstly being the part timers.Either your too slow or dragging it out on purpose!.(especially if someone else can do it in half the time!)I would go for the latter as I see this on a daily basis from full timers(and their open and honest about it).Now that theres half of what used to come up through ips(and not due to mail dropping off,but more coming up through sequenced coded boxes)Us P/T's(30 hours anyways)come in at 8;15,2 hours after F/T's naturally. But by 8;15 F/T's are already on their large or better,in somecases theyve done and taking their lapsed out.All this lapsed s***e is causing no end of upset between F/Ts and P/Ts.People even fighting over differnce in opinions.Personally I think its all part of the RM plan.Divide and conquer and all that jazz.Eric Cantona wrote:Why is it that when a Full timer goes on leave or on the sick the part timer comes on his or her walk runs around like a lunatic and finishes it in half the time the full timer would, what are they trying to proof ?
All I can say is the manages are looking at the times the part timer finishes and then lays into the full timer on his/her return, not taking into consideration the full timer has been on the ips sorting and lapsed as well. You part timers out there SLOW DOWN your cutting your own throats at the end of the day…and your trying to make a fool of your colleagues….
