Message back from Pensions Helpline.

For part timers all overtime up to 40 hours is pensionable. Full timers and part timers, hours over 40 hours non pensionable.

Crystal Clear, thanks!! :Applause
Surely part timers do NOT get overtime rates untill they have done 40 hours. Presume extra hours are paid at normal rate until they have done 40 hours thus making them pensionable.
But why don't PT get the full Xmas bonus (£100) if they are working 40 hours pw over the Xmas pressure period.
The extra hours they work are counted as OT and does not make them eligible for the full payment, and they only
get pro-rata unless they have been given a temporary FT contract.

When he says 'overtime' he means hrs worked over their contract,it is at the standard rate and does not go to 'docket' rate until OVER 40hrs just like full timers.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
