Because money for leaflets is being scrapped due to DTD into workload and the CWU have got RML to retain the DTD money in the paybill, as its not for DTD the money has to be shared out differentley, As its no longer DTD money everyone in the D.O gets it.

It is a delivery office supplement not a DTD supplement, that is what needs to be understood.

Daz we know it is a supplement and not a D2D payment but why on earth did they not get rid of the old phg payments and include that into the supplement at the same time as early shift allowance? To my simple mind it would have made sense because these people are now getting a big pay rise while thos who have lost their early shift allowance are losing out. I am not having a go at the phg's who get the extra and the old phg money, but I suppose I am having a go at the people who negotiated this part of the agreement without really thinking how it would seem to ordinary posties.
Yes I bet the negotiations were hard but this really does need another look at, because if the early shift allowance was fading slowly so is the old PHG allowance, so both could have been put in the pot and at least it would have been slightly better to those who are losing out.

Personally I belive all add ons should be scrapped and replaced with one decent flat rate of basic pay for all OPG's.

What is the point of having pay made up this, that and the other?

I also belive that the basic increase for 2010 is too small and therefore is making it difficult for the supplement to gain support. Basic pay shuld have been raised at the minium by £12.37 to counter act the ESA1.

My basic increase on 30 hour week is £5.20 and my ESA 2 pro rata is £4.65 It would have been nice if everyones basic pay increase was more than their ESA.
