Didn't all combi and transit sized vans a few years back have to be fitted with a metal barrier, or metal mesh, to prevent this kind of thing happening. Don't know if it was law, or just RM covering themselves, but I would assume the new vans will be (have been) modified the same?

The union are meeting Royal Mail this week to discuss the documnet on Cdv/ delivery methods. This should be realsed soon and will answer some questions. Whats worth considering that Royal Mail have sent letters out in the past to drivers after blamworthy Rta saying they have to imform they insurance company of accidents in works vechicles. So if you had say three rtas then your car insurance could go up as you are a higher risk ! Also if you did not tell them they may consider not paying out if they find out.

The vans are insured, so they will deal with any scrounging compo claimers.
So if an accident so happened you would have to tell your insurance company for your own car and also you could face prosecution all for doing your job well anit that just dandy for some :cfo who have shofers and mega bonuses earned of our backs!.

Just tell them you can only drive an automatic, or you suffer from travel sickness.

its usually a condition of accepting insurance from the provider that you disclose all accidents and incidents even if not covered by them. Apparently it helps them build up a risk analysis of each driver. The good news is that sometimes if you don't have an accident whilst driving for work, it can actually lower your risk and therefore your premiums.
