I said the DOM expected us to do absorption. I didn't say we did it!

We had them yesterday and today. I've not had too many so far so I guess I'll get the rest tomorrow. Also had loads of Sainsburys mags today :arrrghhh
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Why are you lot complaining about having post to deliver? :Boo hoo! Its your job! No wonder the public think we are lazy with this attitude. You either work until your finishing time with break included or you extend with overtime payments! I dont understand why having lots of mail is an issue aslong as the bag weight matrix is followed. In actual fact its keeping us in a job.

Some people are never happy and never will be happy no matter what happens!! The "good old days" where we got finished at 11am and paid until 1pm are long gone. Get used to it.

The complain I'm making is we are held back in our office till at least 9.30. We have to lapse even when it's busy, the duties are all uneven and some are up to 4 hours. I'm supposed to finish my walk at 1pm but it rarely happens and RM have now sent out a letter saying we need to make our specials by 1pm, cutting off if we need to. We're no longer allowed to live parcels with neighbours or in safe places, and if the mail volume is below a certain amount (or the managers say it is) they won't pay us overtime....thats my problem

You've posted this in the wrong thread aint ya mate.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Well save it for the tea room....don`t air these kinds of issues on a public forum ffs. Its going to be hard enough when (hopefully) the 2010 agreement gets rejected to convince the public we are being hard done to without posties posting a topic basically complaining about having post to deliver!! :arrrghhh

Unfortunately we are going to be hard pressed to convince the public anymore as we were slaughtered by a well put together and professional hate media campaign which wrecked our creditability. I hardly think coming on here and moaning about heavy days followed by absorption will make any difference at all.

You may have some fair points which can be debated though so why not start a new thread about being more positive about taking on bulk drop work and run with that. :whistle

Were you involved in the negotiations for our latest "staggering" deal?

Pretty much everybody gets hacked off with their job from time to time. Jees, get over yourself.

I have'nt got a problem with delivering it, I've got a problem with the planners who book this lot in to turn up on the same day and expect it all to be done within the hours. BTW SURRENDER,I WORK MY HOURS.......ALL MY HOURS!!
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat

I've been with Royal Mail for 20 years. When I started I was at the bottom, I had to do all the crappy deliveries but better the devil you know I say. I knew that there was to be changes, but I expected there to be changes that incorporate our health. The last 5 years have seen big changes but I feel these changes have not taken into consideration our health in that we are seriously overburdened with weight over too long a delivery. I can't see myself being in this business for too much longer because of this. I know I'm getting older but after delivery, my arms ache, my legs throb, not to mention the stress inflicted by my line manager who is getting pressure by his manager to save pennies. At least the top level management get their bonus eh? For all our hard work. I wouldn't call myself a whinger, I just see things as they really are.

i'm sorry, i didn't mean to be overly flippant. i know what you're saying, and i agree 100%. i'm aching all over after most shifts as well.
