I imagine that there are on site engineers who repair most faults.
With the number of machines at each mail centre, if one machine is not working then the work can be switched to another machine.

In our DO over roughly a 6 month period we've had only a couple of hiccups with the second (last) delivery of WS mail. On the first occasion it arrived nearly an hour late. This was in the very early days and I'm guessing that they didn't really have a contingency plan then. On the second occasion (contingency plan then in place, possibly?) the mail centre pushed it through as standard mech but we got it earlier than we would have done the WS so no harm done.
That would depend on there being staff in at the time of the "earlier" delivery of standard mech, if DO times are being pushed back, what staff would be in the DO to do this? As they would be geared to come into a DO for sequenced mail! :confused

CUTT OFFs
IF mail volumes are high or other factors such as weather etc and you cannot compete the walk within the time limit what happens?

We are regularly now cutting off to to high mail volumes in my DO,no O/T if you stay out ,and suspensions threatend for bring in work back.

Have read the agreement on delivies wich is as clear as mud.

If I stay out ,do not get paid how do I get my hours back or dont I ?

I had a manager a couple of years ago got extremely pissed off with me for refusing to change a tyre. I didn't do it.

It's expected in our office that we do it.

My point being that other employees will be driving the vehicle and I don't want to take respponsibility if there's a problem after I've changed the tyre.

No chance.

I was "assessed" a couple of years ago to drive RM vans, I very very rarely do now. if Park and Loop comes in, am I OBLIGED to drive as i've been assessed?
