Words mean nothing,we had the words in 07,the words are still there but are ignore up and down the country.

Agreements on paper mean nothing to many in management. This is the big worry.
Postman your right , talk is cheap. However if we never believed management again we would never have another national or local agreement.

I think the difference this time ( I hope ) will be that for the first time ever we will have both Roger Poole and ACAS who are independent of Royal Mail and have been involved in the negotations all the way and know what was agreed and why. This is a very good safeguard.

In addition lets be honest Royal Mail cannnot do this without the assistance of staff and the union. Equally unless the company gets in better shape this industry will continue to shed jobs , reduce terms and conditions and dirft.

When you say "better shape" do you mean ,make even more profit? I know how they could do that.
They could make us do more work for less reward.
they could cut lots of jobs.
How much profit will be enough profit Dingo?
Seems like you accept the principle that profit comes before people . At what point would you draw a line in the sand?
Is it any wonder folks have trouble spotting the difference between management and union officials

I don't think it is. It seems like they really do believe that they have done a really good job with this deal. Looks like if you talk to management for too long you end up brainwashed, also looks like a quick rinse would work on some  What's the old saying, 'if you lay with dogs you get fleas'
