Lets be honest. Theres no way these proposals are going to work on a day to day basis. Theres just too many variable and impracticalities for the average RM dullard line manager to deal with. Can you imagine your idiot lino organising park and loop cover when your 'buddy' driver goes sick at 930am? Can you envisage the chaos in your office when 4 time sensitive saturday D2Ds come in late ? Its going to be the best thing ever!

Let the management bring whatever they want in and laugh as it all goes horribly wrong while you are merrily working to your time.

:dance
I cant see it working either as ive only got 3 d2d's next week and they are stacked in boxes (seven in total) all around my bench and there's hardly any room for mail in the morning let alone me. :left:

Here is the deal

1. £400 lump sum
2. £1000 lump sums over the next 3 years
3. £20.80 per week, every week for 3 years = 3,000
4 £7 per week pay rise for 3 years = £1050
5 £5 per week for 2 years = £500
6 £12 per week for 1 year = £600

Total gained = £6500 estimated over 3 years

Now what we lose

1. £12 per week for 3 years = £1900
2. £25 per week door 2 doors for 3 years = £3300 (46 weeks per year)

In essance we are gaining £1300 for the next 3 years, however as we have not had a pay rise this year,
for the 4 years we are gaining £6 per week, which equels a pay rise of just 0.4% each year.

In addition to this we have to do an unlimited amount of door 2 door items, including dedicated
one day door 2 doors, which mean you may have 100% call rate on any day of the week
including saturdays.

In year two and three RM are going to buy back our colleague shares currently valued at £ 1100 (is that right?)

That would bring a £2400 increase over the 3 years or £15 a week at the end of a 3 year period.

Seems that the lower earners on D2D are going to profit over the 3 year period while those who earn more in D2D are gonna be worse off or profit less.

I'm not any good at the old maths so nothing I've written should be taken as fact , do your own calculations on what you earn on D2D and you'll get a better picture of where you stand.

What happens in years 4, 5 and 6 and beyond is anyones guess.

Still a no vote from me though.

Unfortunately all some people are going to see in front of their eyes are £££££££. I have already heard people saying how great the £400 quid is without actually understanding how or when this is going to be paid. These are the same people who have had their overtime cut due to budgets so I can see the attraction. These are the same people who are saying things like "I hope we vote yes coz I can't afford to go on strike" without stopping to think that if it wasn't for people like me going on strike in the first place (who incidentally can't afford it either) the agreement wouldn't be on the table !! :arrrghhh We need some straight talking from the Union and we haven't seen hide nor hair of any CWU representation coming round the DO to explain the agreement. Says it all really. Its a big fat NO from me :speak to the hand

3. £20.80 per week, every week for 3 years = 3,000

This will go up after the 2nd year i think.

Good post though,well worked out.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Here is what I think it says......
1) £20.62 for everyone, pensionable and you get it whilst on Annual Leave or sick

2) Walks spans will vary walk per walk pending on your rep inputing Pegasus with the high call rate, gradients,Stairs etc.You could devise a PT walk(s) specificaly.

3) The prep of these walks will also require your rep to input the right information for indoor work

4) More Saturdays off,(Minimum 1 in 4)

5) Compulsary testing of walks which do not work

6) No cars

I am not selling it,just saying it's "other points". The Bournemouth briefing had some good points, however reps saying "The Deal Is S**t" with no reason why does not help anybody.
The trouble is a lot of office's don't have reps or are weak.Any deal...and I mean any deal...these offices will suffer. The local reps job remember is unpaid and he has his own duty to do to.If your office has a rep he will have to do more D2D and longer Saturdays and represent us.
The offices that have no reps need to stop moaning and help us all out here.Stand up and be counted.
